I’ve been making art just about my whole life. I studied art at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Berkeley, and received my Bachelors’ degree in Art at Cal with an emphasis in painting and drawing. I studied primarily with Joan Brown and Elmer Bischoff. I started working in watercolors after completing my Bachelors degree in painting and drawing. Initially this was because I was painting in a very small apartment, where there was little room for canvasses, let alone the heady ‘scents’ of oil paints. Watercolors long since became my passion.
I’m completely content when I’m painting. I lose track of time. I’m inspired by my surrounding, mostly in flowers, in gardens and in architecture, finding them at home and in my travels around the world, especially Europe, the South Pacific, and in Americas.
I exhibit my work in galleries in both solo and group shows, alternative spaces, and select art fairs. My work is found in corporate collections and numerous private collections in the US and Europe, and have been experiencing a growing demand for licensed products featuring my artwork.
My work is available through my online gallery at http://www.RosoffArtworks.com, on my blog at https://jillpaints.wordpress.com. My notecards can be purchased from my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RosoffArtworks.
